The climate time bomb ticks
The earth is falling sick
Tock
With temperatures both
Hot, cold and bold
Tick
Fever hot
A candle too hot to handle
Tock
Or icy cold
The wick blown out
Tick
By storms
That have become the norm
Tock
Its symptoms get more bold
As its resources are sold
Tick
There is nothing in place to stop
Rainforests from getting the chop
Chop
For fields of logs to be shopped
For yields of soya to be cropped
Tick
CO2 can no longer be mopped
By the lungs of the earth ( already chopped )
Tock
Temperatures soar
Forever higher to cap a new score
Tick
Melting icecaps
Into a rising sea shore
Tock
Forests that do still exist will rage and roar
As fire spontaneously ignites forest floors
Tick
Oceans will become aflame
With methane
Tock
While forests and oceans burn
We have reached the point of no return
Tick
The world accelerates
With runaway global warming
Tock
Where is the brake ?
Before we all bake ?
Tick
Stuck inside the conglomerate commercial gluepot
The world has now become
Tock
Our enemy isn’t the sun
But our very own egos - overrun
Tick
For life is fought like a contest to be won
Taught to look out for number one
Tock
Never mind the next generations to come
Tick
